Agentic SDLC on the Claude Platform

AutoPilot, built by OpsAgents AI, runs the whole delivery cycle on Claude. Each step of a ticket's life (build, review, staging, QA and release) is carried out by a Claude agent, the client's code deploys to their own staging and production, and your ticket board stays the place where work is asked for and tracked.

Three terms, one sentence each.

SDLC (software development life cycle) is the path software takes from plan to code, review, test and release, and an agentic SDLC has agents run those steps with human approval gates.

ADLC (agent development life cycle) is how we design, evaluate, ship and monitor Claude agents themselves.

FDLC is AutoPilot's full delivery cycle, from ticket to code, review, staging, QA and production.

What is an agentic SDLC on Claude?

An agentic SDLC is a software development life cycle where Claude agents carry out the plan, code, review, test and release steps, and people approve at the gates that matter. In AutoPilot, the builder and the reviewer are separate agents that run in different sessions.

Builder agent

Writes the code and pushes it to a branch for the ticket.

Reviewer agent

A separate agent in its own session reviews that code. The builder and the reviewer run in different sessions.

Review gates

Every merge passes review gates and has a rollback point before it reaches production.

Spending cap

A hard spending cap applies to each client organization, and every call checks that it is attributed to that client's organization.

How AutoPilot runs your FDLC on Claude

The FDLC is the full cycle from ticket to production. AutoPilot reads the ticket on your board, hands each step to a Claude agent, and writes the result back to the same ticket, so your team keeps working in the ticket board it already uses to request and track work.

The flow in four steps

  1. Ticket. Work is asked for on your board, and AutoPilot picks it up.
  2. Build and review. A builder agent writes and pushes the code, and a separate reviewer agent reviews it.
  3. Staging and QA. The change is deployed to staging and checked there before anything reaches production.
  4. Release. The merge goes through review gates and a rollback point, then to production.

ADLC: building and evaluating agents

The ADLC is the life cycle of the agents themselves. We design each agent for one job, write the evaluations that define a good result, ship it through review gates, and monitor it in production. The builder and reviewer agents inside AutoPilot follow this same cycle.

Design

One agent, one job, with the tools and permissions that job needs.

Evaluate

Test cases and review criteria written before the agent ships.

Ship

Released through review gates, with a rollback point.

Monitor

Results are tracked in production and fed back into the next evaluation.

Frequently asked questions

What is an agentic SDLC?

It is a software development life cycle in which Claude agents carry out the plan, code, review, test and release steps, and people approve at the gates that matter.

What do SDLC, ADLC and FDLC mean?

SDLC is the software development life cycle. ADLC is the agent development life cycle: how we design, evaluate, ship and monitor Claude agents. FDLC is AutoPilot's full delivery cycle, from ticket to code, review, staging, QA and production.

What do the Claude agents do?

A Claude agent carries out each step of a ticket's life (build, review, staging, QA and release), and the client's code deploys to their own staging and production.

Who reviews the code that the agent writes?

A separate reviewer agent reviews it. The builder agent and the reviewer agent run in different sessions, and every merge goes through review gates and a rollback point before production.

How is spending kept under control?

A hard spending cap applies to each client organization, and every call checks that it is attributed to that client's organization.

Where does my team keep working?

In your own ticket board, which stays the place where work is asked for and tracked, and AutoPilot writes progress back to the ticket.
